A Modern Restaurant Inspired by Traditional Hakka Houses

The Floating restaurant, designed by Jiang Lu Chuan, is a stunning example of architectural innovation and cultural homage. Located in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, China, this restaurant sits amidst a picturesque farmland, surrounded by water. The design takes full advantage of the beautiful environment, creating a hydrophilic dining space that echoes the tranquility of the surrounding waters.

One of the standout features of the Floating restaurant is its undulating roof, which mimics the gentle waves of the water. This design choice not only adds visual interest but also creates a sense of harmony between the man-made structure and its natural surroundings. The irregular column spacing scales further enhance the concept and creativity of the design, giving the restaurant a distinct and captivating appearance.

Inside the restaurant, the attention to detail is evident. In 2021, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category.
